How Education fails the educated…

How Education fails the educated…

Let me begin with a guy who has a bachelors in Social Work and a Masters in Business Management, who joins a company as Finance director.

… On a typical day this guy arrives to his office and alights from his car, to a surprise the neighbouring company’s employees are smoking and chatting in the vicinity of their company this includes a woman also…! It’s a kind of surprise for him and gives a big smile and walks inside his office….what a pity…

…he is degree holder in Social Work, so his first duty was to educate them about the evils of smoking and it’s after effects especially by women…but he did not do so…. Phunny Man…

Secondly, though he is Master’s in business and working a Finance Director he’s no authorized signatory in the company ie no signature of his is valid…eg: giving cheques to others...but he is still the Director Finance…
And all financial handling is done by the Promoters of the company….

And another Story…

… A guy who has business graduation spends most his career in corporate sector and all of a bang he decides to start a restaurant which specializes in range of Biryanis
…Pity the restaurant had a loud opening in the media and it did not even run for even 6 months…and this guy simply disappeared probably a kind of face wash of its failure….

Workplace life Partners and Anti Nepotism Policy…

Workplace life Partners and Anti Nepotism Policy…

Romance and searching for a life partner do happens in workplace/office…
But there is logic behind it, it’s like the guys are seniors in the company and girls come and join the company as juniors/trainees and romance and love blooms…

Example: a guy who has good years of experience in the company probably a team lead type position has total control of his subordinates….and there comes a girl as a fresher into the company who joins his team…while he teaches/mentors the girl about all the basic operation/understanding of work culture, so communication and better knowing each other begins and finally love do happens….but once her manager proposes to her she cannot say no to him….

….but with a bang the company management introduces Anti-nepotism policy to safeguard the ethics in the business…so this leaves the couple disastrous either one has to leave the job…
…this means a kind of amnesia for them….!?

MNC is MNC... Desi is Desi... and women have....!

MNC is MNC... Desi is Desi...                   and women have....!

Working in an MNC company is totally different than working in a Desi company...it's for sure...

Couple of years back i knew a girl from Bangalore who had completed her Engg education and was working with a leading global IT MNC in Bangalore through Facebook... after some months i came to know that she is married and settled with her husband in a South East Asian country....

...and she is continue working in that same company where she was employed in Bangalore??? how...???

Points:
# Days before her marriage she probably may have requested the company's HR that she would obviously settle with her husband post marriage in the country where her husband is working and settled and would have requested their HR that she could be transferred to that country.
# As that company is Multinational Corporation which has presence in all the countries on planet earth except North and South Poles...!!
# So company would have coordinated with that country's HR about her request and found that a vacancy is vacant that she found a job in that company and country.

Secondly in my own experience women employees are given some special privilege and some type of soft corner....

Truly MNC is MNC.... Desi is Desi....

Hardware Matters...

Hardware Matters.....

Hardware here has two meanings one that is used in the construction/Tools and Machinery in Defence and Hardware which we use in our homes and offices...Computers!

We are now in the month of April 2013 and we also will be remembering a dead Actress from down south...yes i am talking about the beautiful Actor SOUNDARYA who died in a plane crash 9 years back.... :( in 2004

http://www.hindu.com/2004/04/18/stories/2004041805680100.htm

Yes she died a freak air accident that was a shocker to everyone... she was flying in a small plane from Bangalore to a place somewhere close to Hyderabad which minutes after take off from the airfield crashed and all four on board died instantly, burnt/chard beyond recognition....... :(

The business which owned the aircraft in which she was traveling was started by some flying enthusiast not by aviation professionals... :)

The main culprit here is the old four seater aircraft which was almost 50 years old!
which probably was not properly maintained/overhauled or was either outdated...

As a Computer Hardware Guy the Moral of the Story here is: Always have best in class Tangible(Hardware) things if u should be safe and secure....this includes what we use in our day to day life COMPUTERS....

Education Credentials

Sometimes Education does not matter.....in America....

I want u all to immediately log on to Wikipedia and type Samuel Palmisano and read the post....

Well yes Sammy is just a Bachelors in History from a University and eventually lands a job in an Information Technology company in mid 70s as a SALESMAN....for it's products and services....
This is really mind boggling that a guy with only a educational degree in History goes on to become CEO of the world's largest Information Technology company and also the Chairman....:)

What about in India.... Bachelors in History means an Arts Degree... but Indian companies don't take them in core functional areas of the business.... either he or she is just a office chap doing paper work...
There is some Respect for Science Degree but more respect for Commerce Degree.... Arts.....???

But Management Graduates are only office based chaps who sit in posh air-conditioned offices and work....

Loss and Gain

Someone's Loss is Someone's Gain....

Couple years back this was a shocking incident that rocked Bangalore city and perhaps the nation....
A gruesome murder takes place in Bangalore....the dead women is a school teacher in reputed school and her husband is HR professional in city's biggest IT firm....

Few days later the news says that HR professional had hacked his teacher wife due to some petty fight which was frequent....
now probably he is behind bars....

lets come to point....
1. The guy was employed in a company of Repute in Bangalore as HR Professional so obvious once he was arrested he is now the guest to police.... and his post in the company is vacant..... so the company will go ahead and recruit another he/she to fill this position or someone below him would get a opportunity to that position...
2. The teacher women is dead.... so the school will mourn for a day or two and will recruit a new teacher which was left behind by her.....

When responsibility comes leave everything behind:

This is about a young girl of 21 who is not native of Bangalore comes to city as a B Com Grad and joins a company, for two years she works in that company's Finance department and then probably her parents decide that she has to be married off....so ultimately she get's engaged and married also....after marriage she comes to work and works for 10 months and then she is pregnant....so obviously she has to go on leave for the so called maternity leave....
few months later a baby is born...then may be her in laws would advice her to leave the job permanently and become a housewife by taking care of household chores and their family....

....so the company will go ahead and fill the position which was left behind by the women who is now a housewife....this position will go to another young he or she....

Economists and Aam Admis

Being Economists is like being an opportunist....why and how.....? As our own Pradhani who is trained to be one....spent most of his life in classrooms about teaching what is GDP, GNP, per capita income, inflation etc definitions and then goes on to become a top person of financial system of the nation and ultimately becomes the Pradhani of our great nation.....
